Sawa Sawa is a female founded and led nonprofit organization that empowers artisan women in Kenya to make a sustainable, dignified livelihood using skills in weaving, beading, basketry, and art handed down through generations. We bring communities of women together to create opportunity through fashion that is handmade from locally sourced materials. We use the revenue from the sales of products, grants, and donations to fund our programs. They include reproductive health education and menstrual hygiene kits for girls. This helps them stay in school consistently and have dignity, safety, and privacy during their periods. We partner with other organizations to provide drought relief, clean water, and medical camps for women.
